SHENZHEN Bus Group has launched the T526 express route, a dedicated feeder service designed to make cross-border travel between Shenzhen and Hong Kong smoother and more convenient. The new circular route operates entirely within the Shekou area, making it a tailor-made connection for local residents and Hong Kong visitors alike. Starting and ending at the Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint, the T526 covers key stops including Shekou Building, Haiwan New Village, Wenzhu Garden, and Haiyue Metro Station, which connects to Metro Line 2. Service runs daily from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with buses arriving every 10 to 15 minutes. The flat fare is 3 yuan (approximately US$0.40), payable on board. Designed with real travel patterns in mind, the T526 directly links the border checkpoint with residential neighborhoods, shopping districts, and the Metro network. For Hong Kong visitors heading to Shekou for leisure, dining, or retail, the route offers a hassle-free first- and last-mile solution. It also provides a convenient return option for Shenzhen residents coming back from cross-border trips. The Haiyue Metro Station stop is particularly strategic, enabling seamless transfers to the city’s Metro network and easy access to popular destinations such as the Taikoo City shopping complex and other commercial hotspots along the Nanshan coast. The launch comes amid a sustained surge in cross-border movement between the two cities, with growing numbers of residents traveling for shopping, dining, and daily activities. The T526 fills a critical gap in public transport connectivity, bridging the port with Shekou’s residential and commercial hubs in a single, efficient loop. For a smoother journey, passengers are encouraged to check real-time bus arrival information via Shenzhen Bus Group’s WeChat miniprogram “深巴出行” before heading out.(Tang Li) |
