Shenzhen boasts 132 entrepreneurs with personal wealth of at least US$1 billion each, ranking second globally behind only New York and first in China, ahead of Beijing and Shanghai, Rupert Hoogewerf, chairman and chief research officer of Hurun Report, said during a recent speech in Shenzhen. Shenzhen has 44 unicorn companies, ranking sixth among cities worldwide and third in China. Nanshan District is home to 24 of them, accounting for 54.55% of the city’s total.
