A NEW cultural landmark has opened in Longgang District as the Longyuan Public Stone Museum officially began trial operations, offering free access to a remarkable collection of natural stone art.

Located within Longyuan Park, the museum occupies three exhibition halls — Tulong Halls No. 1, 2, and 3 — with a total floor area of 1,200 square meters. The spacious layout is designed to showcase the museum’s permanent collection of more than 320 rare and precious stones, each shaped by nature over tens of millions of years.

The collection features stones in a variety of forms. Each piece carries the profound heritage of China’s stone appreciation culture, serving both as a natural artistic treasure and a vivid testament to traditional Chinese stone aesthetics.

“The museum breaks the barrier of art appreciation, bringing the niche art of stone appreciation out of its closed circle and into the lives of ordinary people,” according to the museum’s philosophy, which builds on years of public education efforts in the stone appreciation community.

The museum plans to host regular educational and cultural activities, including stone appreciation salons, cultural seminars, public lectures, and stone appreciation study classes. Updates will be available through the “龙岗文体通” (“Longgang Culture and Sports”) WeChat account.
