Shenzhen rose one place to rank eighth globally in the latest Global Financial Centers Index (GFCI), published Wednesday by British think tank Z/Yen Group and the Shenzhen-based China Development Institute. The report assessed 117 financial centers based on five areas: business environment, human capital, infrastructure, financial sector development and reputation. New York retained the top spot, followed by London, Hong Kong and Singapore. Shanghai rose one place to fifth, followed by Tokyo, Seoul, Shenzhen, Dubai and Zurich.
