The premier women’s team tennis competition will begin today and run through Sept. 27. Zheng is one of five players on China’s team, captained by Zheng Jie. China will compete alongside defending champion Italy and teams from the U.K., Spain, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belgium. It will face Italy in the quarterfinals Sept. 24. The Billie Jean King Cup, formerly known as the Fed Cup, is the women’s World Cup of Tennis.
