A strong cold air mass is expected to affect China from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, bringing an end to the prolonged heat in southern regions, according to the Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory. Shenzhen will remain sunny and hot today, but temperatures will drop slightly starting Oct. 1. From Oct. 1 to 5, the city will be mostly cloudy with occasional (thunder) showers, and the high temperatures will ease. The observatory issued a citywide yellow heat alert for land areas at 9 a.m. Monday, as the maximum temperature rose above 35°C, and the alert may remain in effect for 3–4 days |
