Chalom

Chalom is a traditional Thai woven bamboo basket that has served as a symbol of trade and commerce in Thailand since ancient times, used for generations to carry travel items and goods. Its interlaced bamboo strips are strong, resilient, and durable, qualities that reflect the stability and sustainability of regional economic cooperation. The basket’s distinctive form features 21 openings between the woven strips, which perfectly correspond to the 21 member economies of APEC — a symbolic alignment that made it an inspired choice as the official logo for APEC 2022 Thailand.
