David Zhou, G8,周梓楚 This summer vacation, I took part in a university summer camp because I wanted to visit those legendary American universities that I had only read about in books. During the trip, we visited many famous universities. Stanford University and UCLA impressed me most. Stanford has a quiet and spacious campus. Its buildings carry a long history, and the whole place feels peaceful. You can easily feel a strong learning atmosphere everywhere on campus. Unlike Stanford, UCLA feels much more lively. There are always many students moving around. The campus culture is rich and colorful, and students here enjoy different kinds of activities besides their classes. Standing on their campuses, I could feel the long-lasting academic heritage behind every building. Walking through them, I was absorbed in their profound historical and cultural roots. Each university has its own unique spirit, formed over decades of development. I did not just look at buildings; I tried to understand what makes these universities world-famous. This experience helped me realize that great universities are not only about advanced facilities, but also about the values and ideas they pass down. This summer camp has greatly inspired me. Before this trip, those top universities were only names in textbooks. Now they have become real places full of history and possibilities. It set a clear goal for my future study. I hope one day I can study hard and get the chance to learn in such an outstanding academic environment. |
