Shenzhen’s first ‘cruise to nowhere’ sets sail from Shekou
    2026-11-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The cruise ship “Dream” departs from Shekou Cruise Homeport, Shenzhen, on Friday, marking the launch of the first pilot “cruise to nowhere” route in South China. Shenzhen is the third port in the Chinese mainland, after Shanghai and Tianjin, to introduce such a program. “Cruises to nowhere” are voyages that sail out to sea for several dys without stopping anywhere before returning to the same port from which they departed. “Dream,” a 77,000-ton vessel with capacity for more than 2,200 passengers, is operated by Cheng Zhen Cruise Ship (Hong Kong) Corp. Formerly known as Sea Princess and operated by U.S.-based Carnival Corporation & plc, the ship was renamed Dream in January 2023 and underwent a comprehensive upgrade.Photo provided to Shenzhen Daily
