New forest train offers slow ride through woods
    2026-11-06  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A NEW forest train sightseeing route has opened at Enshang Wetland Park in Yantian District, offering visitors a 20-minute slow ride through woodlands and past a lake.

Train details

Terminals: Wutong Pavilion – Wutong Pavilion (loop line, passing Fenghu Lake)

Operation time: 9 a.m.–6 p.m., weekends and public holidays only

Fare: 30 yuan (US$4.5) for a single ticket (same price for adults and children); a variety of discounted package tickets are also available.

Two themed carriages

The “Dream Garden” carriage is decorated with illustrations of the park’s native plants, including Chinese New Year flower, red azalea and Rhododendron moulmainense. The “Magic Forest” carriage carries images of protected animals rarely seen in the wild, such as small Indian civets, leopard cats, black kites and collared scops owls.

Getting there

Take Metro Line 2/8 to Haishan Station (海山站), Exit B, then transfer to the “山海专线” (mountain-sea shuttle), which runs from Haishan Road Terminal to Enshang Wetland Park without requiring a climb.

Alternatively, take Metro Line 2/8 to Haishan Station (海山站), Exit C, then transfer to the “山海专线B” (mountain-sea shuttle B), which connects Yuelin Hotel to Enshang Wetland Park and is aimed at visitors arriving by car.

Ticketing

Tickets for both the train and the mountain-sea shuttles can be purchased through the “深巴出行” (“Shenzhen Bus”) WeChat miniprogram. The line may be adjusted or suspended in severe weather, and riders are advised to check operating conditions before departure.(Tang Li)
