Taste of Bali at Grand Hyatt Shenzhen
    2011-03-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FROM March 18 to 27, delight your palates with authentic Balinese cuisine at The Show Kitchen from Grand Hyatt Shenzhen prepared by guest chef Sujono and his team from Grand Hyatt Bali.

This March, he and his colleagues will not only bring Balinese dishes to Shenzhen but also fresh and quality ingredients from Bali, Indonesia.

The most recommended dish is Balinese roast duck in banana leaf, which is always a popular dish. To prepare the dish, the duck is rubbed inside-out with a mixture of Balinese seasonings. Then the duck is wrapped in several layers of banana leaves, first steamed then baked for more than an hour. The rich flavor of the duck is greatly enhanced by pungent roots, herbs and seasonings.

Another must-try dish is minced seafood satay. This is probably the most delicious satay you’ll ever taste. The delicate flavors of minced prawns, tuna and other seafood are greatly elevated after being roasted in a mixture of Balinese seasonings.

Moreover, the chefs also bring healthy and fresh Balinese desserts, including black rice pudding. This is a delectable dish made of sweet, sticky black rice combined with coconut cream.

During the Balinese promotion period, the extensive varieties served in the five open kitchens will be on offer continuously. Lunch buffet on weekdays is 198 yuan per person, and on weekend is 248 yuan. Dinner buffet on weekdays is 308 yuan, and on weekend is 348 yuan. All prices above are subject to 15 percent service charge. Children under 5 are free to eat.

From 2 to 5 p.m. March 19 to 26, Chef Sujono and his team will teach guests how to cook Balinese dishes at The Mansion on the hotel’s first floor. Admission is 380 yuan per person.

Venue: 1881 Baoan Road South, Luohu District
