In anticipation of the honor of hosting university athletes from all over the world, Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen has added extra training courses for its staff to better meet the needs of international travelers. The hotel also planned food promotion and a room package to celebrate the event.

Universiade room package

At Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen, a value-added Universiade package is being offered from Aug. 11-23, providing visitors with luxury accommodation and gracious hospitality. Starting from 1,900 yuan per night, the package includes one night’s stay in a luxury guestroom, complimentary daily buffet breakfast for two persons at Cafe Zen, complimentary wireless and broadband Internet access, complimentary access to the swimming pool and Health Club, and complimentary parking.

Universiade dining specials

From Aug. 11-23, Cafe Zen will offer diners flavors from around the world. Dishes prepared at the restaurant’s live-cooking stations are from different cuisines, presenting a theme of diversity yet highlighting the unity of different cultures.

Guests can enjoy the buffet at the regular price of 198 yuan per person for lunch from Monday to Friday and 238 yuan per person on Saturday and Sunday. Dinner is available at 258 yuan net per person from Sundays to Thursdays and 288 yuan net per person on Fridays and Saturdays. Prices are subject to a 15 percent service charge.

Raising service standards

To instil more confidence in the staff when interacting with international guests, extensive English and etiquette training programs have been added to the hotel’s regular training calendar.

Through March to June over 100 staff members attended the Service English Course. Another 40 staff enrolled in the online English course to improve their English.
