    2011-12-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Maggie Tang

THE St. Regis Shenzhen, a luxury hotel operated by hospitality giant Starwood Hotels and Resorts, will open Sunday on the top floor of Kingkey 100, which is Shenzhen’s tallest building with a height of 441.8 meters.

The world’s highest St. Regis, the Shenzhen hotel aims to introduce a new level of luxury and a new dimension of sophisticated and chic amenities that are sure to appeal to international and local guests. It is the sixth St. Regis in China.

“Welcome to The St. Regis Shenzhen, where we will raise your expectations to new heights,” said the hotel’s general manager Stephen Ford. “With a superb setting and location as well as sophisticated and unique offerings, the St. Regis is ideally positioned as Shenzhen’s go-to destination for international visitors and VIP locals alike.”

Towering from the 73rd to the 100th floor of Kingkey 100, The St. Regis Shenzhen seamlessly blends Old World elegance with modern convenience and luxury. The hotel features 257 guest rooms and 40 suites, sumptuously appointed with thoroughly modern amenities and spectacular views, providing guests with a unique luxurious sanctuary amidst the hectic urban setting. The top floors of the tower offer a diverse selection of signature restaurants and unique lounges, as well as a five-star spa featuring an indoor swimming pool with stunning, panoramic views of the city below.

“The iconic Kingkey 100 is the perfect setting to introduce the St. Regis brand to one of China’s most modern cities,” said Qian Jin, senior vice president of operations of Starwood in Greater China. “The St. Regis brand is known worldwide for its modern interpretation of a century-old tradition of bespoke service and luxury. Discerning travelers and influential locals looking for unparalleled sophistication and a new go-to destination will welcome The St. Regis Shenzhen.”

The St. Regis Shenzhen will be the first hotel in the city to provide fully customized iPad2 remote controls in each room to easily connect and manage all tech components, as well as set the mood and comfort level. Using the iPad2’s simple, multiple language touch-screen interface, guests can easily and quickly change the settings for lights, curtains and temperature. The iPad2 also acts as the remote control for the 3D television, DVD player and the stereo, including all of the cable channels and movies and music on demand.

Following the legendary tradition of the St. Regis brand, The St. Regis Shenzhen will offer its legendary butler service for all guests, setting a new white-glove standard of service for visitors to the city.
