The Langham, Shenzhen launches soft opening

THE Langham, Shenzhen celebrated its completion Monday with a ceremony to mark its soft opening, setting out to introduce some European-style luxury to the local market.

The first Langham hotel in South China is located in Futian District and is 20 minutes away from Futian Checkpoint and 30 minutes’ drive from Shenzhen International Airport.

The hotel features 352 guestrooms and suites, which are all designed in the luxurious British style, combining with classical Oriental elements. The inspiration was drawn from a mix of traditional British style and decorative materials such as classical ivory, porcelain and jade, to give each room its unique character and provide luxury and tranquility in this fast-paced metropolis.

Located on the 22nd and 23rd floors, and inspired by the elegant private clubs of the Victorian era, the exclusive two-story Langham Club is a haven of serenity and exclusivity. The club displays a variety of collections including artworks and paintings. It is divided into secluded sections, such as Writer’s Corner — equipped with high-speed Internet and business electronic equipment and Langham Library — a tranquil place to read or enjoy movies and music. The club offers guests an oasis in which to relax or just catch up on the day’s business.

The Grand Ballroom accommodates up to 350 guests. Located on the 24th floor, the two Star Rooms can host 300 guests. Complemented with five other dynamic function spaces, the hotel can cater to the business needs of meeting planners.

For over 140 years, afternoon tea has been part of The Langham legacy. Palm Court continues this tradition with an exquisite selection of specialty teas, sandwiches, scones, freshly made jams, and enticing delicacies. Experience the best of the world’s cuisine all in one place in the stylish and airy setting of the Silk, the all-day dining restaurant. Treasures & Scent — the first luxury chocolate retail shop in Shenzhen — showcases handcrafted chocolates made with the finest premium ingredients.

Also, the special restaurant called Duke’s features prime cuts, seafood grill and Tapas paired with the finest wines. The hotel’s signature Cantonese cuisine, T’ang Court, is a sibling of the Michelin Star restaurant in Hong Kong, offering authentic Cantonese culinary excellence.

The Chuan Spa on the fifth floor is a base for traditional chinese medicine (TCM) and the balance of the five elements. It is a serene haven where healing hands will pamper, soothe and invigorate guests with a wide array of natural treatments.

The evocative warmth and residential environment, created in this elegant European-style sanctuary with a contemporary twist, make The Langham, Shenzhen an ideal choice for both leisure and business travelers.
