Celebrate 24th Marco Polo German Bierfest
    2015-10-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

MARCO Polo German Bierfest 2015 is the undisputed Marco Polo signature event in Hong Kong and has been an annual highlight on every entertainment calendar for the past 23 years. It is Hong Kong’s longest-running outdoor Oktoberfest and the most authentic, popular and award-winning German beer festival in Hong Kong.

Following the newly chartered route of Lufthansa Airways’ A380 jumbo passenger jet to Hong Kong, commencing Oct. 24 from Frankfurt and on Oct. 25 from Hong Kong, passengers of the debut flight arriving Oct. 25 will be granted free entry to the Marco Polo German Bierfest 2015 from Oct. 25 to 27 by simply presenting their boarding pass at the venue entrance to experience the most traditional German beer festival in Hong Kong.

From Oct. 16 to 27, every participant will be given a lucky draw ticket at the venue entrance. The grand prize winners will receive two complimentary Lufthansa round-trip business class air tickets to the birthplace of Oktoberfests — Germany. Other fabulous prizes include dining vouchers at authentic Italian restaurants Cucina, Three on Canton and Cafe Marco.

This year, Marco Polo German Bierfest will feature the widely popular German beer — Erdinger Weibru, a classic with 129 years of history in wheat beer brewery. With a selection of Erdinger Weissbier with harmonic and sparking taste, Erdinger Dunkel with full-bodied flavor and limited quantities of special edition Erdinger Oktoberfest with a gold color and a heavy fruit note that is produced only once a year, guests can rest assured that a genuine Oktoberfest vibe is being delivered. The limited Oktoberfest 4-in-1 BierPass (HK$340) is also on the menu, which offers guests a chance to taste four kinds of authentic German beers in one go.

In addition to the special edition beer mugs printed with the 24th anniversary logo given to adults every Friday and Saturday, specially designed hats and other goodies will be distributed on site as a surprise for guests on selected nights.

This year, the chefs will prepare a nightly mouth-watering culinary feast featuring authentic German dishes such as roasted pork knuckle served with braised red cabbage and gratin potato (HK$185). For non-beer drinkers, a wide selection of beverages will be offered, such as Jagermeister, apple schnapps, red and white wines, juices and soft drinks.

Capping the hearty feast is a medley of traditional German desserts such as apple strudel with vanilla sauce, German cheesecake with forest berry compote, black forest cake and fresh strawberry tart with ice cream, all priced at HK$85 per portion. (SD News)
