Windy Shao windysjf@hotmail.com A GRAND wedding demo show was held at Mission Hills Resort Shenzhen on March 25, featuring an outdoor Western-style wedding on a romantic poolside terrace and an indoor Chinese-style ceremony in a spacious banquet room. More than 100 guests and newly-weds watched the show, enjoying an unforgettably romantic experience: a stunning backdrop of rolling green hills, sipping champagne by the poolside, perfectly-mixed cocktails, snacks enjoyed at the bar, a show of wedding dresses, and most important of all, a moving story told under the spring sunshine of a couple’s journey from a romantic relationship to tying the knot. When the setting was moved inside a banquet room, it became a traditional Chinese-style ceremony, themed “a letter from Spring.” While the outdoor portion featured the color white, the indoor one is all about red — red umbrellas, red flowers and dancers in red — traditionally an auspicious color in Chinese culture and representing happiness or good luck. Organizers said Mission Hills could offer happy couples a dazzling variety of venues and settings to make their special day memorable, including weddings on golf courses designed by golf legends, beside outdoor swimming pools and a fun-filled obstacle water park, or at one of their 13 multi-functional venues. The Mission Hills hotel is China’s only five-star resort integrated into a golf complex, featuring over 500 guest rooms and suites spread across Shenzhen and Dongguan. The golf club was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest in May 2004, officially surpassing eight-course Pinehurst Resort in the United States.
