Hotel sets record for most Michelin stars under one roof
    2018-12-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FOUR Seasons Hotel Hong Kong has made history with the unveiling of the Michelin Guide 2019 Hong Kong-Macao. In the region’s 11th edition of the guide, Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong brought home an unprecedented eight stars, the most Michelin stars awarded to a hotel anywhere in the world.

Lung King Heen, the world’s first Chinese restaurant to win three Michelin stars, has retained its position by taking home three stars for the 11th consecutive year.

Overseeing this pursuit of excellence is Chinese executive chef Tak Chan-yan and restaurant manager Jacky Cheung.

While maintaining the refined tastes of Cantonese cuisine, chef Tak has expanded his culinary vision over the past year, working with local organic farmers and sustainable meat producers to continue to push Chinese cooking into new frontiers. At the same time, the service team has continued to elevate the wine and spirits offerings, exploring new regions and exclusive cuvees to offer guests unique pairing opportunities.

Joining Lung King Heen is the restaurant of French fine dining, Caprice, earning the coveted three-star accolade for the first time. Chef Guillaume Galliot’s personal journey through his career began in France and took him throughout Asia, which is reflected on the plate with his personal expression of French gastronomy. His authentic vision is complemented by the exquisite dining room and renowned warmth of the service team where every wine selection is a story and every movement a ballet.

The final jewel in the crown is the newest restaurant addition to Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, Sushi Saito. The first overseas location of the famed Tokyo restaurant from legendary sushi master Takashi Saito, this intimate restaurant has been recognized with two Michelin stars, which is a remarkable achievement after opening only eight months earlier. Sushi Saito Hong Kong features Edomae-style sushi, where the precision in ageing the fish and cooking the rice, as well as the balance of vinegar, soy sauce and wasabi, create sublime moments on the palate.(SD News)
