Located on the site of the original Jardine Matheson warehouse, the conglomerate most associated with the establishment of Hong Kong as a key Asian port city, The Excelsior, Hong Kong is famous for being a location in the “Revenge of the Pink Panther” film, starring Peter Sellers, and for its Michelin-starred Yee Tung Heen Chinese restaurant. In front of the hotel is the famous Noonday Gun, which has been fired daily at midday by uniformed Jardine Matheson staff since the 1840s.
