Sands Resort restaurants earn Black Pearl diamonds
    2019-01-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THREE restaurants under Sands Resort Macao have made the 2019 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide list, which is the Chinese equivalent of the Michelin Guide, the hotel group has announced.

Chinese restaurant Zi Yat Heen of Four Seasons Macao was named a one-diamond restaurant by the Black Pearl guide; the Golden Peacock, an Indian restaurant of the Venetian Macao, and the La Chine restaurant of the Parisian Macao Hotel were both given two diamonds.

A grand award ceremony was held at the Venetian Macao last week, honoring 287 restaurants in 27 cities, including 22 cities in China and five cities abroad.

On the list were seven restaurants from Shenzhen, all of which were selected for the one-diamond category.

Included on the list were the Zhuo Yue Xuan Cantonese restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen; Voisin Organique featuring organic Western food; Lei Garden Cantonese restaurant in Luohu District; Kanpai Classic, which serves Japanese barbecue; and three other Japanese restaurants.

The Black Pearl Restaurant Guide is operated by Meituan and Dazhong Dianping, which are Chinese online group buying websites, together with a jury composed by famous foodies, culinary experts, food critics, and food culture disseminators. It aims to present a select fine Chinese restaurant guide to satisfy the taste buds.

The guide has three grades: one diamond, two diamonds, and three diamonds. The more diamonds, the better the restaurant is. This year’s finalists included 190 restaurants with one diamond, 77 with two diamonds and 20 restaurants with three diamonds.(Tang Li)
