Chaoshan cuisine at Hyatt Regency Shenzhen Airport
    2019-07-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

HYATT Regency Shenzhen Airport is presenting Chaoshan delicacies to foodies in the city.

Though lesser-known than Sichuan or Cantonese cuisine, Chaoshan cuisine boasts a sophisticated food culture, born of centuries-old traditions. Chaoshan cooking is famous for its restraint and subtlety, forgoing heavy seasonings in order to highlight the freshness of ingredients.

To bring the most authentic delicacies to local foodies, team from Chinese restaurant of the hotel went to Lufeng County, Shanwei City to search for locally sourced fresh ingredients 100 days before the promotion.

Must-tries include the Chaozhou marinated food platter, a regional favorite consisting of eggs, dried tofu, goose webs and goose wings, Chaozhou oyster omelets, a popular street food cooked with fresh raw oysters and tapioca starch as well as Chaoshan stewed seafood porridge in casserole which is available in casserole raw fish porridge, casserole sea prawn porridge, casserole crab porridge and more.

Other recommendations are frozen purple-spotted bigeye, Puning sack tofu, peach-shaped kueh boiled with bean sauce, tender and fat Shitou goose.
