PERHAPS one of the most Instagramable resort hotels along the city’s eastern coast, Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay presented an unforgettable dinner gala for guests and business partners to mark its second anniversary Sunday.

The hotel garnered a slew of honors in its sophomore year, shared general manager Billy Zhang at the gala. It was named “Best Resort Hotel of 2018” by Shenzhen Travel Association and a “must-stay” hotel by Dianping.com. In the past year, the hotel also gained credit for being a trustworthy and family-friendly business operation, as well as an excellent wedding caterer.

On Sunday afternoon, a violinist performed familiar tunes like “Ode to Joy” to welcome guests at a cocktail party set up in the hotel’s garden, where delicate snacks, desserts and fancy drinks were served.

The dinner gala was set up on a long strip of tables by the side of one of the four pools boasted by the hotel, with red roses, calliopsis blossoms, white daisies and eucalyptus leaves adorning the white tablecloth.

Four young ladies gave a synchronized swimming performance against the backdrop of a laser-lit water screen, while on a stage near the end of the pool, a DJ served up some heady music and a bartender presented a fancy show of mixing cocktails, juggling liquor bottles that were on fire. Nearly 100 guests sat for the formal full-course dinner, mesmerized by the fun atmosphere.

Located on the picturesque beachfront of Golden Bay — one of the top eight bays in China — Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay offers 325 spacious guest rooms and suites, featuring panoramic sea views. With its property owner, Hong Kong-listed Kaisa Group, set to turn Dapeng Peninsular into a tourist haven, the hotel management is looking forward to the opening of a brand new ocean-themed park built by Kaisa nearby next year. The sea lion cubs are already being trained, they revealed.

“By our next anniversary, the first phase of the park will be open, which will certainly bring more guests,” the general manager said.
