Winter Extravaganza at Sands Resorts Macao
    2019-11-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SANDS Resorts Macao has kicked the festive season off to an exhilarating start with a holiday season unveiling event that saw Christmas trees and decorations on display at The Venetian Macao and The Parisian Macao, along with superb entertainment. Guests and visitors can enjoy the celebrations until Jan. 2, 2020, while a wide range of seasonal dining, accommodation and shopping offers are also available until Jan. 10, 2020.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd., and Ricky Hoi, acting director of Macao Government Tourism Office, which is supporting the Winter Extravaganza program, officiated at the event. The launch included a state-of-the-art 3-D light and sound spectacular as a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, projecting festivity-themed images onto The Venetian Macao’s 43,000-square-feet (3,994-sqm) façade every 30 minutes nightly.

Other attractions include a stunning 50-foot inverted tree hanging from the ceiling in the lobby rotunda of The Parisian Macao, inspired by the original at the famous Galerie Lafayette department store in Paris, which will make a unique backdrop over the festive season. The Eiffel Tower’s Grand Illumination Show Christmas Edition will play between 6:15 p.m. and midnight, while the dazzling 3-D light and sound spectacular La Magie De Noël will project beautiful, festive images on the sky ceiling of the Place Vendôme at Shoppes at Parisian from noon to 9 p.m.

In The Venetian Macao’s lagoon area, another magnificent tree was officially revealed alongside enchanting decorations, including a Christmas train, “The Venetian Express,” featuring Santa and his grotto ready to welcome visitors. Guests can send Christmas greetings from “Santa’s Post Office” by the lagoon and take photos with Santa until Dec. 25.

At the opening event, Sands Resorts Macao and art collective teamLab also announced more details about their collaboration at The Venetian Macao. The teamLab SuperNature is a permanent, interactive experience set to open in February 2020. Housed at Cotai Expo Hall F, it will boast 5,000 square meters of floor space, eight-meter-high ceilings, and an extremely complex, three-dimensional world with varying elevations, featuring constantly changing, immersive artworks.(Maggie Tang)
