Invigorate the palate with ‘Senses of Shangri-La’
    2019-12-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHANGRI-LA Hotels and Resorts has recently launched “Senses of Shangri-La” at Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen. The annual program comprises a series of gastronomic events featuring a team of highly acclaimed master chefs from Shangri-La’s extensive Asian and Western cuisine kitchens. The culinary program begins in Shenzhen and will tour to 15 Shangri-La hotels across 14 mainland Chinese cities, including Chengdu, Guangzhou, Xi’an and Xiamen, for a year till December 2020.

Guests will embark on a memorable journey through cuisines from all over the world. The extensive menu is a curation of different dishes from Shangri-La’s master chefs — each dish an elevated take on local cuisine designed to evoke the five senses of sight, smell, hearing, touch and taste. Menu items showcase each master chef’s creative expression and contemporary interpretation, while safeguarding authentic flavors based on a deep understanding of each city’s culture and culinary tradition. The series of “Senses of Shangri-La” dinner events takes every sensorial element into consideration, producing a mesmerizing and unforgettable dining experience.

Enhanced by carefully selected wines, the menu consisting of various cuisines is collectively created by a team of master chefs from different hotels.

“The event has brought together the best of Shangri-La’s culinary teams in the group and elevated local cuisines to new heights, blending together rich gastronomic heritage and diverse cultures from a variety of regions. But the culinary event is not only organized for the purpose of showcasing our culinary excellence and distinctive Asian hospitality,” said Charlie Dang, Shangri-La Group’s executive vice president of operations in South China. “It is also an opportunity for us to express gratitude to our local communities, our guests, patrons of our food and beverages, and our loyal Golden Circle members.”
