Hilton appoints new area GM in Shenzhen
    2020-07-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

JOSEPH ZITNIK has been appointed by Hilton as its area general manager of the greater Shenzhen area, effective from February 2020. He oversees a portfolio of 14 Hilton brand hotels and is also the general manager for two new hotels currently under construction – the Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center and the Hilton Garden Inn Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center.

Zitnik has many years of hotel management experience in Asia Pacific and China. He joined Hilton Hotels & Resorts in 2012 and was most recently the area general manager for the Shanghai area. Before joining Hilton, Zitnik has held general manager and senior management positions with the InterContinental Hotels Group, the Banyan Tree Resorts Group and Hyatt Hotels. Zitnik was also previously vice president of operations at the OCT International Hotel Management Co.

Zitnik is from the United States. With a bachelor of honors degree in communications from the University of Hawaii, he has worked in many Asia-Pacific countries including Thailand and the Philippines.

The Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center will offer 325 deluxe and comfortable guestrooms and suites, with spectacular harbor views and stunning city views. The hotel will feature versatile meeting and banquet facilities, including a 1,350-square-meter pillar-free grand ballroom with a nine-meter ceiling height, 4-D holographic projector and vehicle lift. The hotel will also offer four distinct outlets to ensure a pleasant dining experience, as well as various recreational facilities.

The Hilton Garden Inn Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center will have 407 modern and comfortable guestrooms and suites, and five dynamic function rooms to provide optimum flexibility for various mediums or small scaled events.

Both the Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center and the Hilton Garden Inn Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center are located in the exhibition new city area of Bao’an District, within walking distance to the new Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, the largest comprehensive convention and exhibition center in Asia Pacific. Both hotels will offer Hilton Honors, offering instant discounts to members who book directly through Hilton’s official channels.

Hilton Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center and Hilton Garden Inn Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center are scheduled to open by the end of 2020.
