InterContinental Chongqing Raffles City sets sail
    2020-08-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

IHG has announced the official opening of InterContinental Chongqing Raffles City. Located at Chaotianmen Square in downtown Chongqing, the new hotel is part of the iconic Raffles City complex – a new modern landmark in Southwest China. Auspiciously located at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers, the state-of-the-art high-rise hotel is close to famed local attractions such as Jiefangbei and Hongyadong.

Raffles City Chongqing with its eight skyscrapers is designed by world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie and his team, who drew inspiration from the region’s unique terrain and culture to create an image of powerful sails. This one-of-a-kind InterContinental hotel boasts 380 luxury rooms and suites from the 44th to the 65th floor that offer panoramic views and floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel occupies the top floors of one of the tallest towers, as well as part of The Crystal, an iconic skybridge 300 meters in length, that connects the top of four skyscrapers at the height of the 42nd floor. Guests can enjoy majestic views on this fully glazed observation deck, experiencing the InterContinental life with a unique perspective of both the urban skyline and verdant hills beyond.

The hotel offers a wide array of immersive dining and entertaining experiences that engage guests’ senses and satisfy their cravings. The Jing Dining Room & Bar is the hotel’s signature Chinese restaurant and bar and features lavish seafood dishes, classic dim sum, and unmissable local Sichuan cuisines.

Featuring live band performances and superb sommelier service, The Maven offers quality drinks and refreshments to its guests, boasting a selection of first-class wines and liquors from around the world.

The interactive restaurant Botanica restores the charms of outdoor dining with family and friends. Food trucks, rustic wooden furniture and graffiti scattered in the restaurant brings the scenes of the alleys and streets of Chongqing’s daily life to hotel guests.

The lobby lounge Horizon is poised at an altitude of 250 meters and is adorned with the modern language of architecture. Here guests can enjoy the hotel’s signature high tea in a forest ambience with magnificent city views.

The hotel also offers 2,000 square meters of event space with first-rate service, including two pillarless ballrooms measuring 1,250 and 450 square meters, respectively. To re-energize or unwind, guests can immerse themselves in the infinity pool or visit the fitness center on the 43rd floor.(Maggie Tang)
