W Hotels launches music series
    2020-12-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

W HOTELS has launched a “W Music Series” program with the appointment of its first guest music curator in China, emerging music talent and electro-pop musician Chace (Chinese name Zhu Yihan). The pursuit of electronic music is brought into the hotel space to stimulate interaction and make W Hotels emerging venues for music trends.

Since its inception, the W brand has always considered music as one of its core passions. The new “W Music Series” at four destinations, starting with the newly unveiled W Chengdu, offers guests an immersive experience by sharing a passion for music, according to Jennie Toh, vice president for brand marketing and brand management of Marriott International in Asia Pacific. “As an emerging musician with a promising future, Chace, like many of his peers, has pushed the boundaries of what is possible in the process of learning and creating music. He has also broken many boundaries in the process of learning and creating music.”

At W Chengdu, Chace recently had an inspiring and unique conversation with the hotel’s resident DJ to inspire guests and break the stereotypical perception of the hotel’s brand and background music, as well as to better communicate W’s mission of “living life to the fullest” to music lovers.

In the evening, a fun-filled music carnival kicked off at W Chengdu. Chace lit up the night with his deft spinning technique and bold performance style. He skillfully mixed international tracks with local hits, fully demonstrating the W Hotel’s approach to “mix, play and re-mix” truly original music style.

“I’ve always been a big fan of W Hotels, and I’m honored to be the featured guest music curator for W Hotels in China, as the brand’s constant passion for music and its willingness to innovate matches my philosophy,” said Chace. “Performing live and expressing myself through music is something I’m always passionate about and look forward to.”

The highly anticipated “W Music Series” events will also be held at W Xi’an, W Suzhou and W Shanghai — The Bund in early 2021, and will conclude at W Shanghai — The Bund. Chace will return to each W Hotel for equally meaningful conversations with the resident DJs, bringing the opportunity for young music lovers in the destinations to experience live and exclusive rhythms that will blow their minds.
