JING An Shangri-La, West Shanghai, last week offered guests the ideal place to take in the city view of the downtown business center and beyond from the top of Shanghai, turning the hotel into a venue for a unique charity event in the form of a vertical charity run. Around 200 runners, who came from different parts of society, gathered at the event center on level 3 and conquered the 1,557 steps to reach the finishing line 60 floors high, with the fastest record being set at 11 minutes and 55 seconds. The event has been a Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai corporate social responsibility tradition, and this time donations from the participation fees amounted to a total of 71,242 yuan (US$10,325) and was handed over to the Children’s Medical Center to help underprivileged children. In the past six sessions, Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai has successfully donated a total of 546,088 yuan through the Climb for Hope Vertical Charity Run. Apart from climbing for charity, Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai also hoped to encourage people to pursue a healthier and more positive lifestyle through this event, especially in this challenging and difficult year.(SD News) |
