THE Man Ho restaurant at Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan has recently launched the Chef’s Table promotion, which combines exceptional ingredients, cooking styles and seasonings to stimulate a new visual and taste experience. The promotion is initiated by the hotel’s Executive Chinese Chef Wayne Wang and features two set menus, the “Irresistible Delights” menu for one person and the “Craving for Authenticity” menu for two persons. Inspired by the “Mind Menu” concept of the Marriott brand, the two menus cover not only the popular dishes of Man Ho, but also chef Wang’s personally recommended delicacies. “In our fast-paced society, people are busy with work and eat a lot of fast food and takeout. This promotion aims to recreate the joy of fine dining and offer our guests a delightful dining experience,” said chef Wang. The set menus include appetizers, soup, main courses, vegetables, fried rice and refreshing desserts. The one person’s menu starts with a savory assorted platter consisting of goose liver with hawthorn, tofu dumplings stuffed with black truffles, and caviar and honey glazed barbecued Liberian pork. The braised yellow croaker with truffles is boiled with a handmade sauce to enhance the flavor. The slow cooked beef with thyme is cooked with both Chinese and Western culinary skills to make it unique and tasty. In the menu for two persons, recommended dishes include the double-boiled fish maw soup with bamboo fungi in whole coconut, which is stewed with coconut water and chicken soup; the braised sea cucumber with yam and leek; and steamed thread-fin fish with preserved turnips, which is made with Chaozhou preserved vegetables. The Chef’s Table promotion is available both lunchtime and dinnertime, and runs through June 30.(Tang Li) |
