Exploring Xiamen in-depth with Lohkah Hotel & Spa
    2021-04-30  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FROM April 10, the Xiamen-Shenzhen high-speed railway has increased its speed up to 250 kilometers per hour, cutting the whole journey time to just 2.5 hours. The speed upgrade has facilitated the travel, tourism and business exchanges between the two cities and among cities along the route. For Shenzheners, Xiamen may become the next holiday resort for leisure and one of the hottest destinations to visit.

Xiamen in Fujian Province attracts tourists with its mild climate, Hokkien culture, a collection of tourist destinations and great seafood. The truth is that this coastal city has even more than that to offer. Now with the Lohkah Hotel & Spa, guests can have an in-depth tour with all-rounded aspects in the city of romance.

The Lohkah Hotel & Spa is located right next to Wuyuan Bay Wetland Park, and is within walking distance to Wuyuan Bay International Yacht Club where guests can feel the excitement on the sea. The music island is also close by, which is a perfect place for friends and family fun. Running trails and bike lanes are also conveniently accessible.

The name Lohkah is inspired by the Sanskrit meaning of Loka — our spiritual world. Lohkah promises a sensual and transformative experience for guests to relax, revitalize and rediscover their true sense of self.

Architecturally rooted in the rich heritage of the province, the hotel’s 188 guestrooms and suites afford unprecedented views across the property’s magnificent landscape and the ocean while being only minutes from the city’s economic center.

From the interior décor to the building’s architectural design, every detail has been carefully conceptualized to give a sense of a grand residence.

The hotel is crafted by the world’s top international design team and won the iF German Interior Design Award in 2020.The design earns its own place with its balance of traditional Chinese design principles, local materials and craftsmanship, and modern architectural sensibilities.

It has a seamless engagement with the surrounding natural landscapes that are integral to the ambiance of gentle luxury, where even the most dynamic and active spaces nurture an intimate and personal atmosphere.

For example, the seven pillars at the lobby entrance are hand-carved by students of renowned craft artist Lu Sili who resides in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. The 10 pillars in the lobby separate the seating space, which ensures privacy and spatial uniformity. Traditional Chinese elements and local culture are seen everywhere in the building, such as the iconic red bricks, porcelains, paintings, and antiques.

The restaurants, bars and lounges, meeting spaces, and a comprehensive wellness offering are sure to redefine the standards of luxury hospitality in the region and beyond. The Xia Chinese Restaurant serves Cantonese, Fujian and Huaiyang cuisines. Guests can savor quality steaks at the Amoy Eatery Bar and enjoy drinks at Lobby Bay. An outdoor infinity swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness center and a spa are also available.

In addition, the hotel has designed a couple of itineraries, including the exploration of valuable cultures of neighboring cities, experiences of intangible cultural heritages of Fujian, and classic travel routes.(Yang Mei)
