A SOLDIER of the Pakistani army and five terrorists were killed in a clash in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, an army statement said Sunday.

The intense exchange of fire took place when security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan district of the province, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in the statement.

The killed five terrorists had been involved in terrorist activities against security forces, targeted killings and kidnappings for ransom, the statement said, adding that weapons and ammunition including submachine guns and hand grenades were seized from their possession. (Xinhua)
