Isolation facility

THE fifth community isolation facility (CIF) constructed with Chinese mainland’s support was handed over to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSAR) yesterday.

The isolation facility for mild and asymptomatic COVID patients in Hung Shui Kiu provides around 2,350 isolation beds. Among them, 446 beds are set up in 13-bed and 18-bed quarantine rooms.

More roads in Tibet

IN 2021, roads with a total length of over 120,000 km opened to traffic in Southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, local authorities said Thursday.

In Tibet, five townships and 67 administrative villages gained access to hard roads in 2021. This made hard roads reach to 94.55 percent of the region’s total townships and 77.94 percent of the total administrative villages by the end of the year, according to the regional transport department.

Quake hits Gansu

A 5.1-MAGNITUDE earthquake jolted Zhangye City, Northwest China’s Gansu Province, on Thursday morning, with no casualties reported as of 10 a.m., local authorities said.
