THE 22nd Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China opened Wednesday in Wuhan, Hubei Province, attracting more than 500 guests from home and abroad. At the opening ceremony, Wu Weihua, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, acknowledged overseas Chinese’s contributions to promoting China’s high-quality development, spreading Chinese culture, and strengthening exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries. Since the first edition in 2001, the event has been committed to attracting overseas Chinese talents and investment.
