THE grand finals of the Shenzhen-U Tennis 2022 were held at Mission Hills Ecological Sports Center in Shenzhen’s Longhua District on Saturday and Sunday, with 168 players from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) participating in fierce competitions.

The players from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Huizhou and other GBA cities entered the finals after four subevents lasting for half a year.

After two days of competitions, Feng Ziye and Liu Yihan won the U10 singles titles, for boys and girls respectively.

Sun Hanzhi and Lin Qiyuan obtained the U12 titles, for boys and girls respectively.

U14 titles went to Chen Ningfan for boys and Liu Youyue for girls while Deng Kejun won the U16 boys’ title.

It is worth noting that this year’s U10 and above competition results will be included in the national teenager tennis points ranking system.

The event aims to better promote the development of tennis in the GBA. At the same time, it also inspires and finds excellent young players and coaches through the competitions.

The organizing committee selected 16 coaches as “excellent coaches” through the observation of the competitions for the past six months.

Since its opening in May, the event has attracted over 1,500 participants.
