Enterprises seek business opportunities abroad
    2022-12-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ENTERPRISES from Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang have started seeking business opportunities abroad after measures were announced to ease COVID controls.

A delegation of 160 members from 69 Guangdong enterprises chartered a flight recently for a business trip to attend Cosmoprof Asia 2022 in Singapore to seek business opportunities.

Later in the month, Guangdong will organize 283 people from 149 enterprises to attend the 2022 China (UAE) Trade Exposition, China’s largest participation in overseas exhibitions through chartered flights in recent years. “On Dec. 19, I will attend the trade expo in the UAE, and I believe we can get more orders as we are confident with our products,” Huang Shan, sales manager from Dongguan Budi Electronics Co. Ltd., said. He expected the sales of the company could be doubled next year.

According to Zhang Jinsong, head of the Guangdong Provincial Commerce Department, the province is upgrading the Guangdong Trade Globe project and chartered flights for overseas exhibition were one of the measures it implemented. In addition to chartered flights, Guangdong will subsidize enterprises to participate in overseas exhibitions, build overseas exhibition platforms for exports of Guangdong commodities and encourage local exhibitors and enterprises to organize exhibitions overseas.

In Dongguan, the government had planned to organize enterprises to participate in nearly 50 exhibitions overseas in the first half of 2023.

A delegation from Suzhou, East China’s Jiangsu Province, chartered a flight and headed for Paris on Friday.

The delegation comprises more than 200 people, half of whom are from the investment teams of Suzhou’s districts and counties and the others are executives of foreign trade enterprises.

Led by the Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the delegation plans to conduct exchanges with many Global Fortune 500 companies, global industry leaders, and well-known international financial institutions in France and Germany. A series of promotion conferences are also expected to be held in the two countries.

Meanwhile, many entrepreneurs from Zhejiang Province, a foreign trade powerhouse in China, have started overseas trips to seek business opportunities.

The trips will see them attend trade fairs, establish contacts with potential customers, and engage in business negotiations in various parts of the globe, such as France, Germany, Japan, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The trips are part of a campaign initiated by Zhejiang Provincial Commerce Department earlier this month to boost business orders and expand markets for the province’s vast numbers of trade-oriented enterprises.

The department expects to arrange over 10,000 trade-oriented enterprises for overseas business trips by the end of next year.
