Alert for strong winds

CHINA’S national observatory renewed a blue alert Sunday for strong winds in some parts of the country.

In the following days, strong winds are expected in parts of the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea, the Taiwan Strait, the Bashi Channel, the South China Sea, the Beibu Gulf and areas to the east of China’s island of Taiwan, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said.

The NMC has issued a reminder for all ships and personnel navigating and operating in sea areas affected by the strong winds, urging them to promptly return to ports for safety.

New tourism projects

CHINA’S Ministry of Culture and Tourism has issued a plan to boost domestic tourism with a focus on offering a more diversified array of tourism products.

New tourism projects suitable for students and the elderly should be rolled out, and more ice-snow, marine, cruise, adventure, stargazing and city-walk tours should be launched, according to the plan.

The plan also aims to improve the consumption experience during travels, deliver better public services, roll out virtual museum tours and strengthen market regulation.

Sun’s birth anniversary

A CEREMONY was held Sunday to commemorate the 157th anniversary of the birth of Sun Yat-sen, a great national hero, a great patriot, and a great forerunner of China’s democratic revolution.

The ceremony was held by the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in downtown Beijing’s Zhongshan Park, which is named after Sun.
