WORK on Pengba Passage, which links Baguang and Pengcheng areas in Shenzhen’s Dapeng New Area, officially started last week.

The passage, which runs 5.91 kilometers, starts from Huanbei Road in Baguang area in the north and ends at Yintan Road in Pengcheng area. The two-way, four-lane passage also includes the 3.45-kilometer Paiyashan Tunnel, and is an important part of the three horizontal and three vertical road network, sources from the Shenzhen transport bureau said Friday.

The passage will be an important road link connecting the core area of Shenzhen International Biology Valley and Pengcheng area in Dapeng, and an important road for tourist travel to Baguang and Pengcheng areas.

The trip between the two areas will be cut short from the current 30 minutes to 10 minutes when the passage is put into operation.
