OVER 6,000 design products from countries and regions such as Japan, Germany, the U.S., Italy, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Denmark will be displayed at the 11th Shenzhen International Industrial Fair (SZIDF), which will take place at Hall 2 of Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District between Thursday and Sunday.

Themed “Design Reboot: Symbiosis,” this year’s SZIDF revolves around the three aspects of design empowering industry, design empowering city, and design empowering social sustainability. The fair will feature a total of seven exhibition areas in the main exhibition venue covering 15,000 square meters, and will set up four subvenues in Nanshan, Futian, Qianhai, and Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base.

A series of activities including the Global Design Value Summit, the Great One Design Award selection, seminars, forums, design talents selection, and new product releases will be held at the subvenues.

This year, the fair has specially invited Thomas Garvey, the president-elect of the World Design Organization (WDO); Srini Srinivasan, chief operating officer of Design Innovation Institute Shanghai; Onur Cobanli, chairman of the A’ Design Award; influential Chinese industrial designer Jamy Yang, award-winning designer Michael Young, and other leading figures in the design field.

Invited guests at the AIGC’s three forums, as well as those for future travel and sustainability at the Global Design Value Summit, will hold discussions on exploring the relationship between design and the future, and new opportunities and challenges in the intelligent era. The fair will also showcase the results of how design empowers Shenzhen’s “20+8” industrial clusters, as well as the development of eastern, western, and northern Guangdong.

SZIDF is hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, and undertaken by the Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession Association.
