Innovative countries CHINA is among the 10 most innovative countries, according to the latest global innovation ranking published by the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development on Tuesday. The academy has issued a report on the ranking, saying that it surveyed the innovative capacities of 40 countries, which together account for more than 95% of global R&D investment and over 85% of the global GDP. China rose to the 10th place, up three slots from the 2022 rankings, and it is the only developing country to break into the top 15, according to the report. Joint patrol LAW enforcement officers from China, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand joined forces Tuesday to begin the 135th Mekong River joint patrol. Two Chinese law enforcement vessels left the Guanlei Port in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Southwest China’s Yunnan Province at 8 a.m. Tuesday, marking the official start of the joint patrol. Syrian cultural relics A TOTAL of 97 pieces/sets of cultural relics from Syria, including stoneware, bronzeware and statues, are on display at a museum in Northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The exhibition kicked off Tuesday at the Ningxia Museum in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia, and it will continue until Jan. 21, 2024. In addition to Syrian artifacts, it also showcases several cultural relics unearthed in Ningxia and collected at the Dunhuang Academy in the neighboring Gansu Province, representing cultural and trade exchanges between China and Syria in history. Ningxia has successfully held six China-Arab States Expos since 2013. |
