Designers from around the world are invited to submit original projects that fuse eyewear design with technological innovations. Smart wearables featuring AI, AR, VR applications are welcome. Running from October to December, the competition includes preliminary, semifinal, and final rounds. The Grand Jury Award will recognize exceptional work across all categories, with finalists competing for a cash prize of 100,000 yuan (US$14,081). Once the competition concludes, all award-winning submissions will be featured in an exhibition that combines both online virtual displays and physical showcases to create an engaging, interactive experience. Shenzhen, known as a hub for advanced manufacturing, is establishing itself as a key player in the global high-end eyewear market. With over 40 years of experience in the eyewear industry, the city is leveraging its history to inspire creativity and technological advancements within this sector. Kou Ningyan, deputy general manager of the Shenzhen Enterprise Service Group, emphasized that the competition encourages participants to explore how technological innovation can drive upgrades in the fashion design industry. All award-winning designs will be showcased at the “2024 Light Vision” Shenzhen International Eyewear Expo, which will be held in late December. |
