Various workshops focusing on traditional craftsmanship, such as sunmao (using mortise and tenon joints), seal carving, drama, and print art, will be conducted at the Shenzhen Museum’s ancient art division and history and folk cultural division Nov. 16, 17, 23, and 24. In addition, Lu Yanling, a researcher at the Shenzhen Museum, will deliver a lecture on relic conservation at the Hong Kong Museum of Art on the afternoon of Nov. 16. Since its inception in 2015, Muse Fest HK has garnered widespread acclaim, particularly among young museumgoers. Starting from 2017, the Shenzhen Museum has successfully organized three editions of Muse Fest HK branch events, receiving high praise for its meticulously curated exhibitions and educational programs. Huang Chen, director of the Shenzhen Museum, underscored its dedication to cultural exchange and collaboration with Hong Kong. “Through these activities, we aim to deepen the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture, especially among young visitors, while promoting the transmission and advancement of the artisanal ethos,” he said during the launch ceremony Saturday at the Shenzhen Museum. Lau Kai-ip, head of Heritage and Museum Services at the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government, emphasized the department’s commitment to promoting Chinese culture and enhancing national identity and pride through initiatives like Muse Fest HK. During the launch ceremony, the Shenzhen Museum also introduced several collaborative projects, including one titled “Meet Shenzhen Museum” in partnership with CCTV.com, and various educational projects in collaboration with local academic institutions. |
