THE National Health Commission of China dispatched a team of 11 top medical experts Tuesday to assist the local medical staff following a tragic car ramming incident that killed 35 people and left 43 others injured Monday evening in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. Local authorities swiftly mobilized 36 ambulances and deployed hundreds of rescue personnel to the scene to aid the injured. Guangdong’s health authorities activated emergency response plans, facilitating the coordination of medical resources from Zhuhai, Zhongshan, and Jiangmen cities to support the rescue efforts. More than 300 healthcare workers from five hospitals in Zhuhai joined in the rescue operations. The suspected perpetrator, a 62-year-old male divorcee, drove a car into a crowd at a sports center in Zhuhai around 7:48 p.m. Monday, according to a statement from Zhuhai police Tuesday.
