Two members on China’s 40th Antarctic expedition heading out for field operations Sunday.

The squad, consisting of 20 team members, including eight researchers and 12 logistical support personnel, has been stationed at Zhongshan Station for a year and will soon begin their journey back home after completing a handover to the 41st expedition team. Meanwhile, China has just opened its first overseas atmospheric monitoring station in Antarctica.
