FROM now until February, the Shenzhen Museum is hosting a series of traditional Chinese cultural events to promote history education across society.

In 2021, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee issued a notice emphasizing the importance of learning about the history of the CPC, New China, reform and opening up, and socialist development across Chinese society. Various activities have been organized nationwide, including readings, lectures, exhibitions, and visits to revolutionary sites.

The Shenzhen Museum is leveraging its ongoing ancient book exhibition to collaborate with social organizations and schools on activities such as poetry and prose recitals, book salons, lectures, guided tours, and notebook crafting workshops. By integrating history education with traditional Chinese culture, these events allow visitors to explore poetry, literature, historical narratives, and etiquette while fostering a sense of patriotism.

On Monday, students from Nanshan Chinese International College recited classic poems by Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet Li Bai and revolutionary leader Chairman Mao Zedong at the Shenzhen Museum. Surrounded by ancient Chinese books, some students shared how reciting these poems in such a special setting inspired feelings of heroism, lofty ideals, and an appreciation for the poets’ spiritual journeys.

The Shenzhen Museum hosts more than 100 public educational activities annually. A newly published book designed for students covers various aspects of Shenzhen’s politics, economy, society, culture, and daily life.

For information on upcoming events, visitors can refer to the museum's official WeChat account (ID: iszbwg).
