SZ braces for return travel rush
    2025-02-06  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN is taking actions to ensure a smooth journey for travelers heading back to work or home after the Spring Festival holiday, upgrading services at key transport hubs such as Shenzhen North Station and Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport.

Shenzhen Metro has extended its operating hours. Today, all lines (except Line 20) will operate until midnight (Line 4 until 12:30 a.m. tomorrow). The last trains in both directions at Shenzhen North Station on lines 4, 5, and 6 and at the Airport Station on Line 11 will not depart earlier than 1 a.m. tomorrow.

From tomorrow to Feb. 14, operating hours of lines connecting railway stations and the airport will be extended to midnight (Line 4 until 12:30 a.m. the next day). The last trains in both directions at Shenzhen North Station on lines 4, 5, and 6 and at the Airport Station on Line 11 will not depart earlier than 1 a.m. the next day.

Shenzhen Bus Group also extends service hours at major transport hubs. In particular, passengers arriving at Shenzhen North Station on Feb. 12 can take “Blue Dolphin” buses from 11:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next day at the underground floor. Multiple payment options are accepted and customized shared route options for Longhua, Futian, and Nanshan districts are provided for groups of five or more.

About 50,000 taxis have been deployed at Shenzhen North Station to meet increasing demand by travelers arriving late at night. Incentives and subsidies are being granted to ride-hailing platforms such as Didi and Gaode to ensure an adequate supply of vehicles for travelers. (Windy Shao)
