10 confirmed dead in landslide

TEN people were confirmed dead and 19 were still missing as of Monday, following a landslide Feb. 8 in Junlian County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, according to local authorities.

The disaster happened in Jinping Village, burying 10 residential houses and a production building. It also impacted more than 100 hectares of farmland. More than 3,000 rescuers from various departments participated in the rescue, according to the emergency command center, domestic media reported.

‘Ne Zha 2’ hits HK, Macao

THE popular animated blockbuster “Ne Zha 2” was premiered in Hong Kong yesterday and will open in Macao today, according to the National Film Administration.

With stunning visuals and thrilling story line, the highly anticipated animated film will be released for wider audiences in Hong Kong and Macao this Saturday.

Honor’s AI drive

BUDGET smartphone maker Honor Terminal has launched the Honor Alpha Plan, focusing on developing an artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem.

Details related to the Alpha Plan initiative will be unveiled at the 2025 Mobile World Congress, scheduled to be held in Barcelona, Spain from March 3 through March 6, the company announced.

The Alpha Plan is a key turning point in Honor's AI strategy and will be led by chief executive officer Li Jian, who took the post Jan. 17.
