Yang Mei yangmei_szdaily@163.com DESIGN Shenzhen 2025, dubbed “Asia’s leading consumer technology and interior design event,” will be held Sept. 18-21 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center in Futian District, promising a remarkable showcase of innovation and creativity. Entering its third edition this year, Design Shenzhen is a spinoff from the influential Design Shanghai exhibition and presented by Clarion Events Ltd., the world’s third largest international events organizer. According to director Wang Xiaogang of the event, Design Shenzhen 2025 will host nearly 200 consumer technology and design brands from over 30 countries and regions to spotlight consumer technology, luxury residence design, and commercial design in a bid to foster the synergy of technology and design. “Located in Shenzhen, a technology and industrial design hub, Design Shenzhen will foster connections between various sectors such as consumer technology, architecture and interior design, and industrial design, promoting cross-disciplinary dialogue and business cooperation,” Wang said, adding the event will help brands explore new markets and inject vitality into Shenzhen’s design scene. The event will present five featured exhibitions — Good Design Select, WellConnect, Idea Box, E-sports Nest, and Re: Materialize. Two forums will also be included — the Global Luxury Residence Design Summit and the Science and Technology and Innovation Conference. Some 120 industry leaders and 50,000 audience members are expected to attend. The Good Design Select exhibition, officially authorized by the G-Mark Design Award and curated by industrial designer Shi Xiaoxi, aims to promote Chinese-Japanese design exchange. It will feature winning designs from Best100, the highest honor at the G-Mark Design Award. WellConnect, co-curated by DavidHugh Ltd., explores pioneering concepts that redefine modern living within homes, work environments, and public spaces. Idea Box, co-curated by EY Products co-founder Jerry Huang, aims to create a complete ecosystem for product design. The E-sports Nest exhibition caters to a growing number of E-sports lovers, particularly those in Gen Z. Re: Materialize advocates for a return to materials — the basic roots of design. The Global Luxury Residence Design Summit will explore future design trends in luxury homes, while the Science and Technology and Innovation Conference will delve into the interplay of technology, creativity, and design. |
