QINGDAO launched its first Month for the Elderly on Sept. 30, providing a range of activities, entertainment and care services for the city’s 1.3 million seniors.

The city is planning to provide more preferential policies for the elderly and to increase public awareness of the needs of senior citizens. Staff of government departments and organizations have been asked to visit senior citizens during the month to provide care and support.
