A SENIOR Shenzhen official had been expelled from the Party and removed from his post for “serious violations of Party rules,” the local Party committee’s discipline watchdog said yesterday.
Zhong Xinming, former executive vice head of Longgang District, was investigated by the local Party’s discipline inspection commission for using his position to help relatives build illegal buildings and taking bribes, the commission said.
He has been handed over to prosecutors for criminal charges, it said.
Also yesterday, Lu Zhen, vice director general of the municipal public works bureau, was sacked and given a warning by the Party, the discipline commission said.
Lu had forged documents to apply for a private passport, hiding his status as a government official, and went abroad more than 10 times during holidays without reporting to the Party, which was against Party rules, the commission said.
