8所深圳学校获评"国际生态学校"

Eight Shenzhen primary and middle schools were awarded the title of "international eco-school" by the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE).

Huaqiaocheng Primary School in Nanshan District became the country's first school to raise the green flag on Saturday.

The eight schools are: Shenzhen Foreign Languages School, Huaqiaocheng Primary School, Nanyou Primary School, Cuiyuan Middle School, Meiyuan Primary School, Lixiang Middle School, Zhuyuan Middle School and Xuefu Primary School.

They were awarded for their green campus environment, eco-friendly measures to lower energy costs, and campus activities to promote environmental protection, the city's Education Bureau said on Friday.

The schools held the green flag-raising ceremony at their campuses on Saturday morning.

The country started the program in 2008 to jointly work with the FEE to select and award schools for their achievements in environmental protection. After two years of preparation, the eight schools in Shenzhen are the first batch of schools in China to receive the title.
