The report details Qingdao’s advantages in capital resources, sailing venues, athlete accommodation and transport, the transport of sailing equipment and weather.
The ISAF has announced the schedule for the bidding process. A meeting in January will hear statements from cities intending to bid. Each will have two hours to elaborate on their advantages.
The decision as to where the 2014 ISAF Worlds will take place will be made by the ISAF Executive Committee in February on the advice of the Evaluation Commission.
The games championships will have 10 events and are expected to attract a maximum of 962 sailing boats and 1,406 athletes.
Qingdao has successfully hosted many international regattas. A successful bid will make Qingdao the first city in Asia to host the ISAF Sailing World Championships.
The championships are the most prestigious outside of the Olympic Games and the principal qualifying regatta for the Olympic Sailing Competition.
The ISAF Worlds are held every four years with the next scheduled for Perth, West Australia, in 2011.
